In  1997, NIBCO and several community businesses generously donated the NIBCO soccer complex to our community.  It quickly became the place for soccer in Elkhart, and it remained that way for many years.  Unfortunately, though, in recent years for a variety of reasons, these fields were not being used or maintained.  This past year, with much effort and coordination between Elkhart Flames Soccer Club and Elkhart Community Soccer Association, the NIBCO Soccer Fields returned to working order.  As a result, kids are again practicing and playing soccer there. In fact, at one point this past year teams from Central and Concord High School were practicing at the same time as a team from St. Thomas and multiple Flames teams.  This is surely what the founders had in mind when they made their generous donation, and it is wonderful to see the complex being put to good use again.  However, there is still plenty of room for improvement.   The purpose of this letter is to request financial support that would allow us to continue the revitalization of the NIBCO Soccer Complex.   We need your support in order to keep our young soccer club players community-based and to offer school-based soccer teams an alternative practice venue.  Other community soccer programs will also be offered opportunities at these fields.  Contributions will be used toward the following projects:

Emergency shelters

$1,500.00

Fence-line to enclose the soccer fields and protect the assets of the fields

$6,000.00

A pavilion for meetings and other soccer activities

$10,000.00

Re-surfacing of each of the eight playing fields: fertilize/seed/top soil/weed prevention

$16,000.00

Communication field board  & Friends of soccer wall

$1,500.00

Restroom facilities  & Concession area

$7,000.00

Spectator stands

$5,000.00

Field marker system

$3,000.00

TOTAL:

           $50,000.00

Your support will not go unrewarded.  Based on your level of support, your name or your company’s name will be included on our Friends of Soccer Wall and you will be acknowledged on our website as a sponsor.  Here’s your opportunity to get your business’s name out there and support your community at the same time.

Donations to Elkhart Community Soccer Association are tax deductible (EIN 35-2019183) and will have an impact on the youth of our community for years to come. We hope you will consider being part of this wonderful opportunity to give back to the community.
